Hello, I’m Steve…
“Not everyone wants a room to themselves. Some people train better with a bit of noise and people around them. That shared feeling of ‘we all just did that’. That’s what my classes are for: properly coached circuits and boxing, where every fitness level is welcome. You don’t have to be fit to start; you just have to turn up.”
what’s included in group workout classes
When to choose group training
Group training is less individually tailored than 1:1 and it isn’t for everyone. It’s for people who thrive on group dynamics and shared challenges. It’s ideal for people looking for a community vibe and a fun, circuit-style workout that ensures you walk away feeling you’ve had a workout and a giggle.
Two class options each week
Choose from boxing on a Tuesday evening or circuits on a Thursday evening.
coaching, not supervision
I coach and train you, not watch and supervise, so you are never just left to work it out on your own, whatever your starting point. Through the warmer months, sessions move outdoors onto the field, using tyres, battle ropes and bags for a change of scenery.

group workout classes are for you if…
- You want to build the training habit in a group setting, with other people around you.
- You’re new to exercise or returning to it, and want a coached environment rather than working it out on your own.
- You fancy boxing training for fitness, not competition, just a genuinely good workout
You might prefer 1:1 training if…
- You’re working around a specific injury, medical condition or a highly personal goal that needs its own programme.
- You want direct, one-to-one accountability and a plan built entirely around you.
Expect to receive:
- Lower cost entry point than 1:1 or online training
- Team spirit, accountability and shared goals
- Invites to group events for a collective sense of achievement
From classes, to events & more…
Some of the strongest relationships at Totally Smashed It started in a class. It’s also where our community events strand grows from. Group challenges like the Wolf Run, cycling days and trips, all built around clients training together and pushing each other on. It regularly gives people the confidence to go further, too: seeing someone else’s progress in class is often exactly what gets their partner or a friend asking to join in as well.

“I was 16 stone 12 lbs when I first started. And now I’m down to 13 stone 5 lbs. I didn’t expect it to be this monumental. It’s changed my perspective on health, eating well and the links it has to my mental health and my anxiety. It’s gotten me closer to understanding where my anxiety comes from and what triggers it. I think I’m learning more about me because I’ve got that time. I like the fact that Steve never lets up.”

FAQ’s
Do I need to already be fit to join a class?
No; classes are coached for every level, and you’re never expected to keep pace with anyone else in the room. You just need to turn up.
What should I bring or wear?
A comfortable training kit and trainers are all you need to start. Don’t forget your water bottle!
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, book your classes here.
Where do classes take place?
At our independent gym in Mortimer Common, near Reading, with sessions moving outdoors onto the field through the warmer months.
What’s the difference between classes and 1-1 personal training?
Classes are group-coached sessions; a great way to build fitness and consistency alongside other people.
1-1 personal training is a fully personalised programme built entirely around your body, goals and history, with direct one-to-one accountability.
Can I do classes alongside 1-1 training?
Yes, some clients combine both, using classes for extra sessions and community alongside a personalised 1-1 programme.
Is boxing training just for people who want to compete?
No, it’s boxing for fitness. Pad work, technique and conditioning, with no contact and no competitive element required. Just turn up, work hard, get sweaty and have fun!
Can I bring a friend or partner along?
Yes! Classes are a popular way for partners, friends and family members to start training together. But we have limited availability so make sure you book early so you aren’t disappointed.
