with a RESULTS-DRIVEN PT
- You’ve lost belief in achieving your goals
- You’re struggling to see results despite your efforts, or
- You’re simply stuck and ready to give up…
If you’re looking for 1-1 personal training with a results-driven PT, accountability and are serious about long-term change, you are in the right place…
1-1 personal training
1-1 personal training isn’t just about seeing your body visibly change; it’s also about a shift in what you believe you are capable of.
It takes 3-4 months to see visible body changes, and that’s around the time the mindset changes too. So if you stick with it, you won’t just LOOK different; you will FEEL different.
And it doesn’t end there… Some of my 1-1 personal training clients have shared how the changes they’ve experienced have helped them to better handle work stress. And their partners and family members see the difference and want to get training with me too.

“Let’s be clear; I’m selective about who I take on, and I make no apology for that. I will help you to make long-term life changes, and that only works if we’re both genuinely in it.”

FAQ’s
How is 1-1 personal training different from your classes?
1-1 personal training is built entirely around you, your programme, your pace, your targets, with every session and review conducted directly with Steve. Classes are group-coached and a great way to build a fitness habit or train alongside others; 1-1 is for when you want a plan tailored to your body, history, and a longer-term goal.
Do I need to already be fit to start 1-1 personal training?
No. Clients range from those just starting to people returning from injury or surgery, right through to athletes preparing for events; the oldest client I have trained is 78. What matters more than current fitness is being genuinely ready to commit.
What happens at my first meeting?
It’s a free consultation, not a sales pitch. I meet every prospective client in person before anyone commits to anything; it’s a two-way fit check. If we both want to go ahead, that’s when we book your onboarding session.
How much does 1-1 personal training cost?
£50 per hour, or if you commit to a longer period, you will get more accountability, consistency and a lower price per hour. Ask me about this >
Where do sessions take place?
In my private, fully-equipped independent gym in Mortimer Common, near Reading. It’s air-conditioned, with access to the same equipment you’d find in a commercial gym and then some. We also use the outdoor field for sessions through the warmer months.
Can 1:1 training help with an injury or medical condition?
Yes. Rehabilitation and strength & conditioning are built into the 1:1 service. I have worked directly with clients’ surgeons and physios on pre-operative and post-operative programmes, so if you’re coming back from an injury or an operation, your history is factored in during our free consultation.
Do you provide meal plans?
No, and deliberately so. Rigid macro spreadsheets rarely survive in real life. Instead, nutrition support is built around accountability: sharing what you’re eating and getting honest, practical feedback that actually fits your week. This is more sustainable for you.
Is there a minimum commitment or cancellation policy?
Payment is monthly with no long-term tie-in. Sessions need at least 24 hours’ notice to be cancelled or rearranged.
I’ve got a wedding/holiday/event coming up. Can you help?
Honestly, that’s not the focus of my 1-1 personal training. It’s built for people making a long-term change, not a short-term push before a single date. If that’s what you’re after, our group classes may be a better starting point.
What makes Totally Smashed It different?
Every client has come through word of mouth. Your measurements are taken every 3–4 months. You will earn every pound you lose.
